The Dark Knight Rises
The Dark Knight Rises was released in the summer of 2012. The film itself grossed over $1 billion worldwide at the box office, making The Dark Knight Rises the second film in the Batman film series to earn $1 billion. It is currently the 15th highest grossing film of all time, the third highest grossing film of 2012, and the fourth highest grossing superhero film of all time.
This film is directed by one of my favourite directors (Christopher Nolan) and I believe that the Dark Knight Trilogy wouldn't have been what it was without him spearheading the product. He has such a way with the thriller genre that enables him to create incredible superhero films; yet actually make them rather realistic in a way that is unique to himself.
The DKR has to be one of my favourite films of all time, definitely my favourite thriller. In one of the opening scenes we see Nolan's genius coming to the forefront of the film. Bane has hatched a plan to take down the plan that he is held 'captive' on. In order to do this, some of his hitmen drop down from a larger plane and essentially tear this plane in half. Nolan doesn't like creating 'fake action scenes' and therefore, he actually made the actors record this in real life.
In my opinion this film has many things a viewer would look for in a thriller film. It has action, thrilling screenplay and carefully, well-chosen actors. Nolan chose the actors extremely well and Tom Hardy plays Bane perfectly. I feel as though without casting such well known actors like Anne Hathaway and Tom Hardy the film wouldn't have done as well as it actually did do in the end. This links to our product that we are going to produce in the sense that we realise it's crucial that we cast the appropriate people to act, for example, if the roles we need are adults, we mustn't cast ourselves but instead look for adults who actually fit the role in terms of their looks.
