HARRY WHITFIELD
Planning Proccess
We were put into groups of 4 or 3 and asked to create a 30-45 second piece from a thriller. I was put into a group with Zack and Saskia. We wanted to create something different and we strived to break the generic theme that we knew most other groups would fall into.
This made us think about rather than having the standard interrogation scene etc. we would embrace the environment around us and ensure the plot was viable in a school building which meant we didn't have to change any of the mise-en-scene around us either and we could leave the school building as it is.
The next idea we wanted to focus on was where we were filming, we decided to use the conference room alongside the corridor outside of the room in our school. This is because the wide corridor enabled us to film a tracking shot alongside Sam leading up to the entrance into the room. Secondly, the room itself had a large window which let in natural lighting which looks far better than artificial lighting in our group's opinion.
