Stylistic Influences

After looking over my research I found a distinct pattern within the films that I reviewed and researched into. On this page I am going to speak about how some of these films have inspired me and how I hope to include certain values and characteristics within my own project.

Firstly, two out of the six films I looked into were part of The Dark Knight Trilogy. These two films really inspired me in the way that they linked together so well. For example, at the end of The Dark Knight, Bruce Wayne seemingly wants to stop with the whole Batman image, however, we see in The Dark Knight Rises that he cannot help himself and goes right back to the hero role that Alfred looks down upon. I like the idea that the two films connect with each other which wants me to head down the road of leaving the audience on a cliffhanger so that, if this was a real-life situation whereby we were actually making a film, I'd like it to be a trilogy.

Secondly, Taken inspired me due to the psychological side of the film. Liam Neeson is presented as an extremely intelligent individual that is able to keep calm during times of danger. I thought that due to him being a hero within Taken, I believe that we shouldn't keep our main villain as calm when they face something in their way. I feel as though when in the situation that the police have found evidence against him, he should be panicking rather than keeping calm.
