Spring Breakers

Spring Breakers is a 2012 American black comedy crime film written and directed by Harmony Korine. It stars Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson, Rachel Korine, and James Franco and follows four college-aged girls on their spring break in Florida where they meet an unconventional local drug dealer who helps them in a time of need, and their eventual descent into a world of drugs, crime, and violence.
Upon first viewing I was rather impressed by this title sequence; the subtle movements and flashing lights that create a rather unusual font make the sequence quite nice on the eye. I liked the simplicity of it and I was considering putting the idea forward to the rest of the group to see how they would feel if we were to create something along the lines of this.
However, upon second viewing I realised that it was poor. Although it is simple, practically anybody with a computer could make it and I think that we could do better than that. Nonetheless, one thing I can take from this is the use of a good soundtrack being important within the title sequence. I found myself rather more attracted to this piece due to the non-diegetic soundtrack somewhat more than the screenplay.
