Great Expectations

Great Expectations is a 2012 British film adaptation of Charles Dickens’ novel of the same name. The film was directed by Mike Newell, with the adapted screenplay by David Nicholls, and stars Jeremy Irvine, Helena Bonham Carter, Holliday Grainger, Ralph Fiennes and Robbie Coltrane. It was distributed by Lionsgate; one of the institutions I researched into.
I enjoyed this title sequence a large amount due to the screenplay. There is so much going on and the editing is very well done. Secondly, this title sequence was simple yet I really liked the filter that was placed over the entirety of the sequence. Another reason why I liked this product was because it used something that links to the film; the use of the insects like the butterfly (shown above) works well because it puts the audience on edge because usually a butterfly is colourful and full of life, however, the filter shows the butterfly to be rather dirty and sinister looking.
