He found further success with The Dark Knight Trilogy (2005-2012), Inception (2010) and Interstellar (2014). Nolan has co-written several of his films with his brother, Jonathan Nolan, and runs the production company Syncopy Inc. with his wife Emma Thomas.
Nolan began his career using philosophical, sociological and ethical concepts, exploring human morality, the construction of time, and the nature of memory and personal identity.
Nolan’s second film was Memento (2000), which he directed from his own screenplay based on a short story by his brother Jonathan. This film was successful for Nolan and brought him numerous honours, including Academy Award and Golden Globe Award nominations for Best Original Screenplay.
The turning point in Nolan’s career occurred when he was awarded the chance to direct and produce The Dark Knight Trilogy. He really brought the franchise back to life and many critics and fans of DC say that he did the comic books justice.
